1.0

General Rules

  1. We will utilize the Crate Racin’ USA Street Stock Rules in 2026 for the car/chassis rules. SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES procedures and general rules shall prevail regarding all rules and procedures if also covered in the CRUSA General Rules.
  2. Anything that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
    1. This includes, but is not limited to, fighting and verbal altercations. This also includes social media networks and will be left up to the discretion of the series staff.
    2. Penalties could be but not limited to as follows - 1st Offense: Disqualified from the race, $300 fine, 20-point penalty and 1 race suspension. 2nd Offense: Disqualified from the race, $1000 fine, loss of accrued championship points and 2 race suspension, 3rd Offense: Indefinite Suspension and fine at series discretion.
  3. Cursing or assaulting any SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES or track officials will result in an automatic disqualification, and/or suspensions/penalties. This will be left up to the series director’s discretion.
  4. The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are neither expressed nor implied warranty of safety from publication of or compliance with rules and/or regulations. These rules are intended as a guideline for the conduct of SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES sanctioned street stock division events and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or officials.
  5. The rules and/or regulations will apply to all SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES sanctioned events.
  6. SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES officials shall have full authority over said sanctioned events, and in the event of any dispute, the head official’s decision will be final.
  7. All competitors and cars are subject to inspection by SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES and/or Crate Racin’ USA technical inspectors or their representatives at any time during any event.
  8. SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES, its officials and representatives reserve the right to confiscate any suspicious or deemed illegal parts or components.
  9. SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES reserves the right to alter or amend these rules and/or regulations in the interest of fair competition, efficient completion of an event, or for safety. All official’s decisions are final.
  10. In addition to this rule book, Crate Racin’ USA suspensions and fines will be upheld in the SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES.
  11. Mirrors, radios and illuminated signaling devices are not allowed. Violations will include but not limited to a warning to disqualification based on history of offenses.
  12. SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES reserves the right to refuse any car/competitor from participating in a SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES sanctioned event.

Racing Rules

  1. Drivers must stay at a pace speed during all starts and restarts, until green. Drivers jumping the start will be penalized two positions for every position they advance.
  2. The initial start is on the leader in the start zone. Green light, green flag we go racing. Restarts are on the leader inside the start zone (to be specified in drivers meeting) If the leader does not fire before getting to the second marker, the race director will call the green. Repeated offenses will result in being penalized 2 positions.
  3. Restarts will lineup Deleware Double file style by the choose cone rule. Leader will be out front by themselves with second on back choosing inside or outside at the choose cone. All drivers will remain single file leading up to the choose cone and move to the inside or outside before passing the cone. Once a driver passes the cone, they cannot change from their chosen lane
  4. Drivers may only have a maximum of ½ a car length between them and the car in front of them on starts and restarts, if this becomes a problem you will be moved to the end of the field.
  5. Drivers causing 2 cautions must exit the speedway immediately. If you do not exit, you will be disqualified for that event, forfeiting all points. If it happens a second time during a series, you will be suspended for 1 event.
  6. When the caution is waved, ease off the gas and get in a single file line, no passing under yellow. We go by computer scoring and do not race back to the starter stand.
  7. Cautions will be called by race control as necessary. We will utilize a fault rule at all events in 2026. If fault cannot be determined, all cars involved will go back to their position at the last completed lap
  8. Rough driving will not be tolerated.
  9. Race officials can ask you to exit the speedway at any time during the race, for any reason they deem necessary.
  10. In the event of a caution on the white flag lap, we will race back if the conditions are safe to do so. Otherwise, we will attempt a green-white-checkered until completion.
  11. In the event that a race is run over or under on laps, the official results are locked in when the checkered flag is called. i.e: in the extremely unlikely event that the computer loses power or track of laps, the event is cut short, etc.
  12. Once the green flag drops, the race is officially underway. If a caution is called for a single car incident prior to the first lap being completed, that driver will restart at the tail of the field. If a caution is called for a multi car incident prior to the first lap being completed, all cars will restart in their original spots. Any car that has to go to the hot pit in either scenario will restart at the rear
  13. All cautions will be called by race control, if you spin and keep moving, the caution will not be thrown. Intentionally bringing out the caution is not tolerated, and you will lose one lap.
  14. The race format may vary slightly from event to event and will be announced in the drivers meeting.
  15. All starts and restarts are (Deleware) double file until the race is concluded or until the race director determines it is necessary to go single file.
  16. In the event a race is cut short by rain and 30% of the scheduled laps of the feature have been completed, and the event can’t be rescheduled for completion, the race will be considered official, unless stated otherwise prior to the start of the feature

Scoring Procedures

  1. A lap will be considered scored once the leader +2 complete the lap. We will utilize split scoring at all events.
  2. Anyone missing their spot (within reason) in qualifying will only get 1 lap.
  3. If the majority of the field does not get across on the first lap before a caution, we will have a complete restart.

Post-Race Inspection

  1. To promote a competitive environment the top 5 will be subject to technical inspection at any time.
  2. Those failing to tech will be disqualified earning no points or money.
    1. Drivers will be given 30 minutes of cooldown and 1 hour after the protest is filed to present the part(s)

Provisionals

  1. A maximum of 2 provisionals per event will be handed to the non-qualifier with the most points.
    1. The track may choose to start more or less cars.
  2. Emergency Provisionals may be used at events throughout the year
    1. Emergency provisional guidelines are as follows: Emergency provisionals do not receive money unless they advance past starting money, then they shall receive the difference in pay. This is to ensure that all qualified cars receive full money and the tracks do not have to add to the purse.
  3. Drivers must attempt to start the B-Main to receive a provisional.
  4. Provisionals are to be handed out at the discretion of the series officials.
    1. Only (2) Points Provisionals may be given at each event
    2. Only (2) Emergency Provisionals may be given at each event
  5. The recipient of the provisional must have a clean record with SOUTHERN DIRT SERIES and must be perfect attendance drivers to receive emergency provisionals.
  6. Suspensions, dq’s etc may disqualify a participant from being eligible for a provisional.
  7. Provisionals will be handed out based on points standings going into the event. In the event of a tie between drivers being eligible for a provisional based on the following.
    1. The first tie breaker will be go to the driver with a better B-Main finish
    2. The second tie breaker well go to the driver with the better qualifying time

Points

  1. 2026 Points fund criteria
    1. There is no minimum attendance requirement to be eligible for points fund and any contingency awards for each points paying position
    2. Only drivers with 100% attendance in the STREET STOCK series will be eligible for the Fike Fab Chassis and Twisted Performance 602 Crate Engine drawings.

Protest & Penalty

  1. Factory Stock engine protest procedures and fees will follow the same policy as written in the CRUSA Street Stock rulebook
  2. Factory Stock shock claims will be $200 per shock and a driver may only make one claim per year. Must finish on lead lap and in the top 5 to claim a shock
  3. Failing a tire chemical lab test will result in the following penalties
    1. First offence - $500 fine + suspended for the next 2 series events
    2. Second offence - $1000 fine + 365 day suspension of all series events
    3. These penalties and fines are in addition to any other fines that may also be instituted by the sanctioning body and/or track
